  About Kim Langelaar

Kim Langelaar CDFA ™

 

Kim Langelaar is divorce mediator, high conflict educator and financial professional with over a decade of experience. Kim holds the designation of CDFA, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, from the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts™ (IDFA). Kim trained in the mediation process through Mares-Dixon and Associates in 2010. She completed her Level 1 Collaborative training through The Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals, an organization dedicated to helping those going through a divorce with minimal conflict and without expensive litigation. She has taken advanced classes though the Colorado Family Bar Association in the financial aspects involving divorce as well as advance classes in alternative dispute resolution. Her skills include helping couples communicate effectively in a highly emotional atmosphere. She knows first hand that divorce can get very expensive, complicated and emotionally draining. She has devoted her career to helping others come up with solutions to simplify the divorce process so each person can move on with their life after divorce. Kim's approach is to help individuals and couples problem solve complex issues with dignity and respect.

 

Kim graduated from DeVry University cum laude, with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Technical Management, emphasis in business and finance. She is licensed in health, life, auto, home and commercial insurance and holds Series 6,7. 63, and 65 securities license .

The Institute for Divorce Financial Analyst: The Institute for Divorce Financial Analyst is the premiere national organization dedicated to the certification, education, and promotion of the use of financial professionals in the divorce arena.

 

Metro Denver Interdisciplinary Committee: A non-profit organization founded in 1975 by mental health professionals, attorneys, and mediator, CDFAs. Its purpose is to promote professions involved in helping children and parents through the process of divorce.

Financial Planning Association: The Financial Planning Association (FPA®) is the largest membership organization for personal financial planning experts in the U.S. and includes professionals from all backgrounds and business models. Mediation Association of Colorado: The MAC supports mediation as an effective means of resolving disputes of all types. We connect the public and the courts to our qualified professionals who address the needs of a diverse population across Colorado.

 

In addition, from 2011- 2013 Kim hosted Dealing With Divorce, a radio show dedicated to giving divorcing couples free information about the divorce process. The guest list included: Divorce Attorneys, Child Family Investigators, other experts with expertise dealing with divorce issues.
